Each Hay bale was mapped on graph paper using latitude and longitude and in relation to each other. The distance was measured in steps. The map was created at a scale of
5 steps = 1”.
Some guidance for those who might try this at home:
1. Distances are deceiving.
2. Hay bales tend to look alike. Use GPS mapping( or great big numbers.)
3. They move around when you turn your back.
4. As big as they are, hay bales can actually hide in the landscape, and then pop out of nowhere.
